Driveline Services Australia is very proud of our long track record of being an automotive industry innovator and an early adopter of new technology. When it comes to making use of the rapidly growing opportunities provided through the internet to maximise our service, our approach is again to strive for the forefront of innovation.
Driveline Services has long enjoyed a web presence, with the 1998 launch of our www.driveline.com.au home page making us one of the first businesses, of our size, in the industry to test the waters of this technology. The site evolved over the intervening years to better showcase our growing product range and geographical coverage, and included improved features such as streaming video.
The evolution has now taken a significant step forward with the recent employment of a fulltime web developer to redevelop and upgrade our main company site to a comprehensive online directory of relevant product and service information. The aim, just as it is with our face to face service, is to be customer-focused by providing existing and new customers with the information they need in an easy to find and comprehend format.
In parallel with the upgrade of our main site, we have begun to develop a suite of new websites to promote our individual product lines and brand names. The first phase of these sites has already gone live at www.durashocksuspension.com.au – the new home of our Durashock Suspension Systems brand. Following in its footsteps is www.ozdiff.com.au a new site dedicated to our performance engineering brand, Ozdiff Performance Products.
These new websites are designed to re-energise the crucial relationship between the company and our customers by providing an engaging, informative and customer-centric space with innovative use of:
- easily navigated content targeted to the customer
- a forum to allow customers direct access to the experts
- a community area that demonstrates Driveline Services’commitment to engaging customers and being accountable and transparent
- interactive make and model catalogues
- customer focused FAQ and advice sections that aim to provide more and better information than other websites
To further enhance the attractiveness and utility of these websites, it is eventually planned to expand the product database into a full e-commerce facility, allowing customers to order products in just a few clicks from the comfort of their own workshop, desk or even mobile phone. In the meantime, to test the viability and interest in an online trading facility, we have recently been trialling several different online sales portals, including that offered by eBay. Encouraging early sales are suggestive of significant demand.
Another innovation currently under investigation is the use of the internet as a tool for the direct export of our products from our international factories to buyers globally. As a true international platform, the internet is ideal for expanding our product’s reach, profile and sales far beyond our own geographical borders.
These developments above are just the beginning of a renewed era of online innovation at Driveline Services. With many more ideas currently being considered to enhance our online presence and improve on our customer’s purchase experience and no doubt many more yet to be considered, or even created, Driveline Services’ is looking forward to its ambitious online future.
