In the crowded Australian suspension market, it can often be difficult to identify key differences between the many and varied product options and brand names available. While there are many known and popular names around that have been in the industry for many years, one newer market entrant, Durashock Suspension Systems, is currently moving ahead in leaps and bounds to cement its place at the forefront of quality and durability in the local suspension industry.
While the Durashock name may be relatively new in the suspension sphere, it is in fact the suspension arm of well known underbody specialists Driveline Services Australia, a company with over 25 years experience in the Australian automotive industry and experts in all facets of underbody components from tailshafts to front wheel drive, steering and diff and gearbox components and now also suspension, through the Durashock range of gas-charged 4WD and performance shock absorbers that aim to deliver improved control, dynamic handling and greater comfort on every surface.
What sets Durashock apart from other suspension brands currently available is that they are designed and tested in Australia to suit the harsh Australian conditions, from uneven surfaces to potholes, dirt roads, excessive heat and worse. Featuring tough twin-tube designs, precision engineered 18mm hardened chrome piston rods and heat resistant triple lip seals among numerous other features, Durashock Suspension Systems is continually building a suite of products that fill some gaps in the current market, including pre-packaged lift kits containing shocks, springs and all products necessary to lift common modern 4WDs by up to six inches in many cases.
The latest innovation by the Durashock team is the rebuilding of their very own Durashock Tough Truck to showcase the unique features of their products. Built from the chassis up in their own workshop, the imposing-looking Tough Truck will be used to promote Durashock around the country at a range of shows and automotive events. The Tough Truck made its show debut in pride of place at the recent Brisbane 4x4 Expo, where it certainly attracted the attention of show visitors at one of the best attended Brisbane shows in recent years. The display also demonstrated the growing knowledge of the Durashock name, with a steady stream of visitors keeping the Durashock staff on their feet for the entire weekend and continued post-show interest and sales in the weeks since.
Another recent significant step in the ongoing development of the Durashock brand was the appointment of an experienced industry professional as National Suspension Manager. Jason Lock brings many years in the industry to this new role and from his base in Melbourne will assist to promote the products right across the country. Jason’s role is to use his suspension knowledge to work with new and existing Durashock customers to ensure that the continued growth of the brand is targeted to meet their needs and continue to find and fill gaps in the current market.
With their products currently available through the Driveline Services group of companies and a small number of selected resellers, Durashock is always on the lookout to extend its product reach through further distribution agreements and would be happy to consider any interested approaches.
